Wall
Plaster is a popular material for interior wall finishing. It is used for levelling and smoothing uneven areas, to produce a flat surface, and may be used on a wide variety of backgrounds including concrete, brick, cement and plasterboard. Formula plasters are used for their high purity, fineness, whiteness and excellent working properties in wall applications.

• Lining plasters (undercoat/one-coat) Undercoat / one coat plasters are used to plaster traditional (non-drywall) walls and ceilings. They are applied to produce a flat surface on a wide variety of background types including concrete, brick and cement. The average thickness of undercoat/one-coat plasters is around 10mm. They may be hand or machine applied. For formulators of undercoat/one-coat plasters, Formula proposes the best adapted base plasters with the desired particle size distribution, setting time, product consistency and bulk density.
  
• Finish plasters: Thin coatings (0 to 3mm thick) are applied on top of an undercoat, to provide a smooth surface finish ready for painting. In certain cases (particularly drywallbackgrounds), a thin coating may be sufficient to achieve the same quality of finish as with traditional 2 coat plastering, within a much shorter working time. Formula’s high quality plasters are used in this application, to formulate smooth, white products, with high impact and scratch resistance. Particle size distribution, setting, consistency and bulk density are important features that will be adapted to customer needs.
  
• Crack fillers: Crack fillers are mainly designed to repair small cracks or holes on walls and ceilings. Formula offers plasters for crack fillers with the specific setting characteristics needed by each customer. Formula also offers a range of uncalcined gypsum products (link to “uncalcined gypsum”) that can be used in this application as fillers or additives (setting accelerator). Formula’s uncalcined gypsums offer benefits of low shrinkage, compared to alternative inert fillers such as ground dolomite or limestone.
  
• Joint fillers: In drywall applications, plasterboards are screwed onto wall-frames to form interior walls. The seams where two edges of wallboards meet are covered with mesh tape, and the seams and the screw heads are then concealed with a drywall or joint filler. Joint fillers produce durable reinforcement of the joints between plasterboards and a smooth and seamless surface ready for priming and final decoration. They also seal the plasterboard surface to provide impact resistance and sound insulation.
  Formula offers the most suitable plasters with adapted workability properties and low shrinkage. For specific requirements in terms of mechanical properties (e.g. joint fillers used without reinforcement tape), Formula also proposes high strength plasters.
