We are fully committed to achieving Saint-Gobain’s 2025 targets (ISO baseline 2010) with significant reductions in:  Energy consumption - 15%; Total CO2 emissions - 20%; Non-recovered waste -50%; Industrial effluent (wastewater) - 80%.

ISO 14001 Certification

Saint-Gobain Formula achieved the ISO 14001 certification for the following manufacturing sites:

  • Walkenried  (Germany) 
  • Newark (United Kingdom) 
  • Gelsa (Spain)
  • Turda  (Romania)

An internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of the business, including the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption.

Quarry rehabilitation

Once gypsum mining has ceased, Formula is committed to fully restoring the area with the goal of preserving the environment, in compliance with local regulations, for its enjoyment by local communities and wildlife. 

Where possible, Formula adds “ecological value” by creating a habitat for a more diverse range of wildlife than existed prior to mining operations

Responsible sourcing

All our suppliers are expected to support our Supplier’s Charter, which includes the following commitments from our suppliers: 

  • Guarantee their employees a decent standard of living and respect their rights
  • Ensure occupational health and safety
  • Limit their environmental footprint
  • Carry on their activities in strict compliance with domestic/international legal standards

Recycling options for our customers

Saint-Gobain Formula is already working with external partners and customers and aspires to find solutions for recycling used plaster, and to add value to this recycled material in new and existing product applications.
