CERAMIC HAND FORMERS
Ceramic hand formers are moulds essential in the manufacturing of latex, nitrile, vinyl and other types of gloves. Made from durable ceramic materials, they offer a smooth, consistent surface, helping glove manufacturers achieve high levels of quality and efficiency across a wide range of industries.
Saint-Gobain Formula is a specialist in plaster and mould solutions for the production of ceramic hand formers. We’ve developed dedicated products and provide hands-on technical support to help glove and dipped goods manufacturers create strong, reliable handformers that deliver consistent quality, batch after batch.
CERAMIC HANDFORMERS BENEFITS
- Thermal Shock Resistance: Able to withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking
- Chemical Resistance: Highly resistant to acids, alkalis, and other corrosive substances
- Durability: Long service life due to their robust ceramic structure
- High Quality Finish: Support the production of gloves with a smooth, defect-free surface
GLOVE PRODUCTION USING HAND FORMERS
Ceramic hand formers play a key role in glove manufacturing. They are used in the production of gloves for diverse applications, from healthcare and industrial use to household and specialist sectors.
During glove production, ceramic hand formers are dipped into a liquid mixture such as latex, vinyl, nitrile, or PVC. The material coats the former evenly and dries to form the glove.
The finished glove is carefully removed from the former, ready for inspection and packaging.
HAND FORMER MANUFACTURING PROCESS
- Plaster mould production: Specially formulated plaster is used to produce high-performance moulds suitable for ceramic casting
- Slip casting: A liquid ceramic slip is poured into the plaster mould which absorbs water, forming a solid ceramic layer
- Draining the excess of slip & Demoulding the hand former greenware
- Surface finishing to get a perfect piece & Drying to prevent cracks or deformation
- Glazing & Firing to ensure strength and durability
- Inspection for surface defects and physical propeties & Packaging & Shipping
